It is a Neo-classical church located Bauan, Batangas in the Philippines. The church is the third and final relocation site of Bauan after its transfer from the shores of Bombon Lake (Taal Lake), to Durugto, to Lonal, and finally to its present site near the shores of Batangas Bay. The church is also one of the parishes administered by Fr. Manuel Blanco, who perfected the art of dyeing by means of plants in Bauan. The church has undergone several restorations. The second and third stories of the belfry was completed in 1934. In 1936, old windows were changed and 23 chandeliers were added. The facade collapsed during the April 8, 1942 earthquake and was repaired between 1945 and 1946. In 1954, the exterior was painted with general repairs in 1957. The exterior was beautified and the frescoes were retouched on the occasion of the centennial celebration. The parish of Bauan was the fifth parish established in the province of Batangas which was made under the Archdiocese of Manila. Later in 1641, Bauan parish was placed under the guidance of the Immaculate Conception and hence called the Immaculate old church small Conception Parish, although since 1596, the patron of the parish was the Holy Cross of Bauan or the Mahal na Poong Santa Krus.
